At Allied Development, we’re a team that’s driven by purpose. Not only do we impact lives through real estate, but we also impact lives by giving back and serving others. As a company, we’re dedicated to providing support outside of our organization through various philanthropic opportunities ranging from cleanup efforts to food drives to service work and more.

One of the many causes we’re passionate about supporting is the need to end hunger and undernutrition in millions of children throughout the world. According to a 2023 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) report published jointly by five United Nations specialized agencies, around 735 million people are currently facing hunger. The report also revealed that in 2022, 148 million children under five years of age were stunted in growth and 45 million were wasted from malnutrition.

Nutritious food is essential for growing children because it provides the critical building blocks for their physical, mental and emotional development. Nutrients like protein, calcium and vitamin D are vital for building strong bones, muscles and tissues. Insufficient nutrition can lead to stunted growth and can impair cognitive functions, memory and learning ability. Malnourished children are also more susceptible to infections, which can lead to poor health, delayed recovery and even death.

Knowing what a critical issue hunger is, on December 5 the Allied Development team volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, a Christian nonprofit dedicated to reducing childhood malnutrition and starvation. Along with other volunteers, we created and hand-packed 40,828 nutritious MannaPack® meals, which are specifically designed to assist in reversing and preventing undernutrition. Those meals were packed into 189 boxes within 90 minutes and will feed 111 kids for a year.

Each day, Feed My Starving Children’s partners distribute meals in schools, orphanages, clinics and feeding programs around the world to deliver nutritious meals to kids across the globe. To a starving child, hope begins with a solid foundation and a reliable source of nutritious food. To our Allied Development team, delivering hope to those in need is a part of our daily mantra: Purpose. Impact. Fulfillment. And through our purpose-driven mission to end world hunger, we were able to make an impact on more than 100 lives, and that’s fulfilling.
